But that's it as well, isn't it? The faculty are published authors. The students are published authors. Everyone here is so talented that I should have assumed they would be published and/or well known individuals in the world of books, and yet it still blows my mind every day.
I've made so many friends here in ten days. Ten days that at times seemed to go on forever and at others seemed to be over before I knew what happened. I love my class. I love the upper-classes. I love the faculty. I love the creepy, haunted buildings. I love how much I've learned here. Ten days. I kid you not, I learned more here in ten days than I did in four years of undergrad. That's not to say that I didn't learn a lot at Rowan. I just learned more about writing here than I ever have anywhere else. Not even just about writing, though. I feel like I've gained some confidence as a writer as well as a healthy understanding of how much I have to learn. I'm completely terrified at the amount of work that I have to do. The good news is that I think with Martine's guidance I can actually do this. I can get this MFA. I can be a writer.
